Jimmy was an energetic son, an altar boy, a devoted father, a loving husband, a mathematician, a big brother, a scholar, a trusted friend and a brilliant and loving, smiling, brown-eyed boy— never perfect, always loved; just a regular kind of guy, like you or me.
As a child Jimmy did all of the same things any kid does, some smart choices, some not so smart. Like all of us, Jimmy was not perfect, but he had a good heart and the core of who he was made him special and his life meaningful. This is true of all of us and he believed that.
Jimmy had a wonderful ability to find the true goodness in everyone and everything he encountered. As an adult he sought out and found people who he believed “Made a Positive Difference” in the lives of others. Although Jimmy was taken from us too early his positive influence has left an imprint in the lives of others and his legacy will be Passed On through the “JIMMY” Coin.
Jimmy believed that each of us holds great promise and can make a difference in a life. We all have something special to offer and sometimes we just need to look deeper to see.
In the end, we all need to be true to the “JIMMY” who lives inside each of us— the one who says, “I believe that I can make the world a better place by looking for the good in all people.” Look at the person on your right and the person on your left . . . Do you see the promise in them? It is there ... in all of us!
